MTC schemes out rural expansion (Namibia)

MTC says it is planning to extend its network in some of the most rural areas after concluding a series of consultations with regional Governors initiated in 2010. MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer, Tim Ekandjo said the consultations were ‘fruitful and insightful’. A schedule for the roll-out is being prepared. In 2010 MTC upgraded its coverage of the main road network, and equipped 46 sites for 3G and also expanding 2G capacity at 123 sites. MTC plans to invest NAD 800 million (USD 113.2 million) over the next two years on infrastructure.
